The teaching-course catalog of the DAUSY Ph.D. program includes courses offered in international, national, and local doctoral schools, offering a unique educational network.
In accordance with the Educational regulations of the Doctoral School of Politecnico di Bari, DAUSY’s administrative headquarters, Ph.D. students will present a training plan agreed upon with supervisors and the faculty college, with didact activities between a minimum of 36 CFU and a maximum of 60 CFU, preferably in the first two years of the course.
International Graduate School in Control
Ph.D. students will be invited to take courses offered by the European Embedded Control Institute (EECI), of which several faculty members of this Ph.D. program are members. Each year the prestigious International Graduate School in Control (IGSC) is organized, inviting distinguished experts from prestigious universities and institutes around the world to teach courses on topical scientific issues.
SIDRA Doctoral School
Ph.D. students will also be invited to attend courses offered annually by the doctoral school organized by SIDRA (Italian Society of Teachers and Researchers in Automatics), consisting of a summer school held each year in Bertinoro (Forlì-Cesena). The school’s leaders and lecturers include several members of the faculty of the present Ph.D. program.
Universities participating in the national doctoral program offer a number of courses that are relevant to the various curricula and will be suggested to DAUSY Ph.D. students. These courses are offered in English and are offered annually or, in some cases, biennially.

Other Courses and Activities
Ph.D. activities of the DAUSY program will include seminars focusing on specific topics of autonomous systems. These will be organized by the Ph.D. tutors, with the opportunity of having speakers from the participant and partner universities and research centers. All seminars will be held in hybrid mode, in order to guarantee the full and effective sharing of educational activities among local and mobility Ph.D. students, as well as speakers and tutors.
Ph.D. activities of the DAUSY program will include workshops organized both by the participant and partner universities and research centers in collaboration with prominent companies – which are already involved in several and well-established collaborative relationships – such as Siemens, IBM, Enel-x, e-distribuzione, Terna, ENI, Omron, Leonardo, Iveco, ST Microelectronics, Thales, ABB, FIAT, Ferrari, Alstom, RFI, Pirelli, and many others, as well as numerous local SMEs.

Ph.D. Research Seminars
The DAUSY program will yearly host a seminar, either online or in hybrid mode, where Ph.D. students will have an opportunity to present their research results to their fellow Ph.D. colleagues, researchers, and tutors. This will ensure the effective sharing of the research work.

All Ph.D. courses will be held in English. Moreover, linguistic masterclasses and certifications will be granted to all Ph.D. students of the Polytechnic University of Bari, which is the administrative venue of DAUSY, and will be organized by the University Linguistic Center.
Research Methodology Masterclasses
SCUDO (Scuola di Dottorato del Politecnico di Bari, Doctorate School of the Polytechnic University of Bari) periodically organizes the “Research Methodology” course (3 ECTS) on research organization and knowledge of the international and European research methodologies.

All Ph.D. students will be able to attend informatics masterclasses, with the possibility of gaining ECTS. These courses are already provided by the existing Ph.D. programs at the participant and partner universities and research centers. Moreover, several departments of the participant and partner universities hold a partnership with the CINI (Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per l’Informatica, Italian National University Consortium for Informatics). It will be possible to attend additional specialist courses and educational activities in the Informatics (Italian academic discipline INF/01) and Information processing systems (Italian academic discipline ING-INF/05).
Promotion and Dissemination of Research Results
Polytechnic of Bari, activates each year the training course “Poliba Soft Skill – Training Academy” for the development of soft skills, aimed at students and Ph.D. students.
The two-month course includes 40 hours of training and is totally free of charge.

Soft Skill Courses
During the last year of the DAUSY program, Ph.D. students will be able to attend seminars focused on the promotion and dissemination of research activities, intellectual property, and open access to data and research products.
Ph.D. students will have access to several laboratories of the participant and partner universities and research centers.
